Boosting EU Biodiversity STrategy by empowering high education curricula and green skills for NATURE protection and restoration

The Erasmus+ e-learning project in brief

Theory and applications in biodiversity conservation

In line with the European Biodiversity Strategy, the project is developing innovative teaching models and methods through a blended education and training course on the topics of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration differentiated for different education levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced).

The content ranges from conservation ecology and biology to sustainable natural resources management with insights into biomonitoring, remote sensing, and effective governance of protected areas for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration.

BESTNATURE course "Theory and applications in biodiversity conservation is composed in two modules:

During the BESTNATURE Field Weeks (BFWs), practical activities are carried out in National Protected Areas in Italy, Germany and Austria, where students have the opportunity to put their acquired knowledge on biodiversity monitoring and management into practice.

To apply in Module B, students must be enrolled in Module A.

Students completing both modules (A+B = 6 ECTS) will be placed on a list of biodiversity conservation experts.
